Windows used to be standard sizes, but architectural trends
have created new challenges with the unique sizes and custom shapes now
prevalent. Have an arched window? No problem! We have window treatments that will fit most window
sizes, from circles, octagons, hexagons, and angled tops or bottoms. Arches,
bay windows and skylights can be covered.
- Arches
- One of the most common requests for specialty window treatments
stems from arched windows. Arch window shades can be either fixed or
moveable window coverings. Arches can come in many different sizes
and types, including stationary top, palladian, eyebrow arch,
extended, half circle, quarter circle, perfect, imperfect, and
Gothic. Probably the most popular window treatment for arched window
is a cellular shade, offering the ultimate in light and temperature
control with the opportunity to raise and lower the shade. Shutter
arches, available in either wood or vinyl, are another great option
for directing light through arch shaped windows.
- Bay Windows & Skylights
- Many rooms now have skylights and bay windows which are great
for letting light in and heating rooms, but can also cause fading of
furniture and rugs. One solution? Cellular shades. We carry cellular shades ideal for
covering your skylights or bay windows. These include Duette and
Applause Honeycomb shades, which are energy efficient, come in a
wide variety of sheer, semi-sheer, semi-opaque and opaque fabrics
and hundreds of colors. They have the added benefit of stacking at
the bottom, top or either side and the Duettes offer a switch
control or remote-control motorized system. These shades are also
ideal for the challenges presented by sliding glass doors and French
doors.
- Patio Doors & Sliding Glass Doors
- Although many window fashions can accommodate traditional patio
or sliding glass doors, certain products – Luminette® Privacy
Sheers, Duette® and Applause® with Vertiglide™, and Panel Tracks are
better suited to fill the challenge presented by large expanses of
glass, because they traverse horizontally, making them easier to
operate. If sunlight is a large issue, consider Soleil Sunscreens
which can be motorized and are made of attractive shadecloth.
